I am New York based Textile/Graphic Designer and Artist born in Japan. As a little girl, drawing and story telling were a big part of my childhood. In 2000, I entered Bunka University in Tokyo Japan where my interest in fashion expanded, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts in fashion sociology and business. Four years of fashion figure drawing class allowed me to realize of my passion for creative expression.
After graduation, I worked as a junior instructor of fashion figure-drawing at Bunka University. During that period, I pursued a deeper understanding of myself, my culture, and new cultures through travels in throughout Europe, Canada, Indonesia and America. I moved to New York City in 2006 and, after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2011, I returned to Japan for a year and I now reside in New York as a permanent resident.
Most of the art works featured here are a product of my professional career as a Textile/Graphic Designer at my current employer, Jay Franco and Sons, where I have worked since 2018. My current position has allowed me to create and design both licensed and non-licensed brands. Over the past year I have been a key designer for the launch of Justice Home, which is sold by Walmart and Walmart Canada. Other products that I have designed are sold by retailers such as Target and Macy’s.
My love for design manifests itself in unique and dramatic color and movement motifs. I strive to contribute my passion for art and design to the quality and growth of the fashion/textile industry.
